Create a Group of Laminate Objects
Laminate objects are automatically grouped in the Laminate Tree when their features are grouped in the Composite Tree. When you perform an action, such as splicing or transition, you can select all the laminate objects in a group at once by selecting the group. Grouping also provides a structure to the Laminate Tree.
Create a laminate group in one of the following ways:
To create a group of laminate objects by creating a group of their features in the Composite Tree:
1. In the Composite Tree, use the drag-and-drop operation to arrange the features of the laminate objects in a consecutive order.
2. Select the features of the laminate objects in the Composite Tree.
3. Click Group on the mini toolbar to create a group in the Composite Tree. The group of laminate objects with the same name is automatically created in the Laminate Tree.
*
When you use the Plies From Zones action, zone based plies groups are created in the Composite Tree. With this, the corresponding groups of laminate objects are automatically created in the Laminate Tree.
To create a group of laminate objects using the Group Laminate Objects command on a group in the Composite Tree:
1. In the Composite Tree, right-click the group that contains at least one feature that created a laminate object.
2. Select Group Laminate Objects from the shortcut menu.
*
The Group Laminate Objects command is available for a top-level group in the Composite Tree only if a laminate group has not already been created for it.
The command applied to the parent group is inherited by all its subgroups. The structure of groups in the Laminate Tree follows the structure of groups in the Composite Tree.
When you apply the command on a new group, the previously created groups in the Laminate Tree remain unchanged.
