To Create an External Merge Feature

Assembly Design > Top Down Design > Data Sharing > Merge and Inheritance Features > Merge Features > To Create an External Merge Feature

1. Create a merge feature and click

External in the Merge/Inheritance tab.

2. Click

Open and select a component. The Component Placement dialog box opens with the selected component in an accessory window.

3. Choose Default from the Constraint Type list to place the external merge feature in the default location or place it in a different location using a set of constraints.

4. Click

to complete the feature placement.

Click

Edit Placement to change placement references.

5. Use the Options and Properties tabs to define external merge feature properties.

Properties options are identical to standard merge features.

6. Click

to complete the external merge feature.
