About Extracting a Waterline Model
1. Select > > . The Show Waterline dialog box opens.
2. To copy all cooling component surfaces, select the Include cooling circuits checkbox.
3. To copy all hydraulic component surfaces, select the Include hydraulic circuits checkbox.
4. To copy all pneumatic component surfaces, select the Include pneumatic circuits checkbox.
5. In the Waterline Model Name box, enter the waterline model name.
6. To copy all cooling component surfaces, select the Include Components checkbox.
7. To add the reference model, select the Include Reference Model checkbox.
8. To include Creo Parametric waterline feature surfaces, select the Include PTC Waterline Features checkbox.
9. To automatically create cylindrical solid models for each waterline, select the Create solids checkbox.
10. To automatically create curve features for each waterline, select the Create mold flow curves for analysis checkbox. Sketches that have the integer parameter FOR_MOLDFLOW attached will be copied to the fluid circuit model.
11. Select an option from the Subcomponent type in fluid circuit model radio group. The following types can be selected:
◦ Create parts for moving and fixed halves: One part for moving and one part for fixed half are assembled and surface copies are assembled based on the parameters of the model of the related assembly.
◦ Create assemblies for moving and fixed halves and parts for each fluid circuit: One assembly for moving half and one assembly for fixed half is assembled. For each individual fluid circuit another part is created. The part is added to the respective assembly based on the side parameter.
◦ Create a subassembly for each model that contains a fluid component: A subassembly is created for each original model that contains a fluid circuit component.
12. To begin the analysis, click
Create fluid circuits model. If the model does not exist in the assembly, a new model is created and assembled using the
configuration/templates/waterline_template template. All features are copied to this model. If an analysis model exists, the included surface copies are updated.
13. To close the dialog box, click Close.
| The Waterline Model can either be a part or an assembly. In the EMX Options dialog box, set USE_ASM_WATERLINE_MDL to YES to create an assembly instead of a part. |
| In case a library component is assembled, and the template model is designated with the string parameter BELONGS_TO_WATERLINE, both the solid model and the cutout will be considered in the cooling circuits. |
