To Get Started with Welding
1. Create or open a model in Creo.
2. Click > . The Welding tab opens.
3. Use individual welding tools to define a weld, or use the Weld Wizard to define a fillet weld simultaneously with a notch, or a groove or butt weld simultaneously with an edge preparation, a notch, or both.
◦ To use an individual welding tool, click one of the following buttons:
▪ Fillet Weld ▪ Groove Weld (ANSI) or Butt Weld (ISO) and then select the groove or butt weld type on the tab that opens, or click the arrow next to Groove Weld or Butt Weld, and then click one of the following buttons:
▪ Square Groove or
Square Butt ▪ Bevel Groove or
Bevel Butt ▪ V Groove or
V Butt ▪ J Groove or
J Butt ▪ U Groove or
U Butt ▪ Flare Bevel Groove or
Flare Bevel Butt ▪ Flare V Groove or
Flare V Butt ▪ Bevel Butt with Broad Root Face (ISO only)
▪ V Butt with Broad Root Face (ISO only)
▪ Plug/Slot Weld ▪ Spot Weld The tab for the selected welding tool opens.
◦ To use the Weld Wizard, click
Weld Wizard. The
Weld Definition dialog box opens.
