To Create a Trimmed Rectangle Surface
1. Click Style > Surface. The Surface tab opens.
2. Select three or more chains that intersect to form a contiguous boundary. A preview surface is displayed.
3. To modify a boundary chain, trim or extend it.
4. To add internal curves, click the Internal chains collector, and select curves.
5. To create a 3-sided or a 4-sided trimmed rectangle surface, click the Options tab, and under Trimmed Rectangle, select the Use for 3 and 4 boundaries check box.
*
When you select two, or more than four, boundary chains, a Trimmed Rectangle surface is created automatically.
6. To create surface connections, right-click the connection icons and choose a connection type from the shortcut menu.
*
Reparameterization curves are not supported for trimmed rectangles.
7. To add or change the reference for a surface connection:
a. Click the Constraints tab.
b. In the Connection table, select the row of the connection to edit.
c. Click the Connection reference collector to activate it, and select a surface or plane reference.
d. If needed, click to reverse the connection:
G0, G1, G2, and G3 connections—Switches between the follower surface and the leader surface, so the leader will be the follower, and the follower will be the leader.
Normal connections—Reverses the normal direction.
Surface connections cannot be edited in Reparameterization mode.
8. Click OK.
