To Create a Trimmed Rectangle Surface
1. Click > . The Surface tab opens.
2. Select three or more chains that intersect to form a contiguous boundary. A preview surface is displayed.
3. To modify a boundary chain, trim or extend it.
4. To add internal curves, click the
Internal chains collector, and select curves.
5. To create a 3-sided or a 4-sided trimmed rectangle surface, click the Options tab, and under Trimmed Rectangle, select the Use for 3 and 4 boundaries check box.
| When you select two, or more than four, boundary chains, a Trimmed Rectangle surface is created automatically. |
6. To create surface connections, right-click the connection icons and choose a connection type from the shortcut menu.
| Reparameterization curves are not supported for trimmed rectangles. |
7. To add or change the reference for a surface connection:
a. Click the Constraints tab.
b. In the Connection table, select the row of the connection to edit.
c. Click the Connection reference collector to activate it, and select a surface or plane reference.
d. If needed, click
to reverse the connection:
▪ G0, G1, G2, and G3 connections—Switches between the follower surface and the leader surface, so the leader will be the follower, and the follower will be the leader.
▪ Normal connections—Reverses the normal direction.
Surface connections cannot be edited in Reparameterization mode.
8. Click
OK.
