To Cut Mesh Elements
1. Create or import a shape.
2. Select one of the following mesh elements:
◦ One or more loops of edges
◦ A set of connected edges with two boundary vertices
◦ One or more faces
◦ One or more loops of faces
◦ One or more edges forming an open chain
To Slice Shapes Using a Plane
1. Create or import shapes.
2. Select one or more shapes on the Freestyle Tree. Alternatively, you can select Shape in the search filter, and then select the required shapes in the graphics window.
3. Click Mesh Cut.
4. Select the plane with which you want to slice the shapes. The Freestyle tree is updated to show the sliced shapes.

To Rip a Shape Using an Open Chain
1. Create or import a shape.
2. Select one or more edges forming an open chain.
3. Click Mesh Cut. The control mesh is cut along an open chain without splitting the shape.
