To Define a Fixed Geometry Reference
Use the General page of the Sheetmetal Preferences dialog box to set the fixed geometry of a sheet metal body.
1. Click File > Prepare > Model Properties. The Model Properties dialog box opens.
2. Under Sheetmetal, click change in the Preferences line. The Sheetmetal Preferences dialog box opens.

Alternatively, you can select a body in the Model Tree, right-click and select Preferences. The Sheetmetal Preferences dialog box opens to the General page.
3. Select a body from the list at the left.
4. Click change next to Fixed geometry. The Fixed Geometry dialog box opens.
5. Select a surface or edge as the fixed geometry reference for the part. The reference appears next to Fixed geometry.
6. To flip the fixed geometry to the other side of the edge, click Flip.

The Flip command is available only when an edge between two nontangent surfaces is selected as a reference.
7. Click to display the Fixed Geometry Information window.
8. Click Close.
