1. Click File > Prepare > Model Properties. The Model Properties dialog box opens.
2. Under Sheetmetal, click change in the Seam line. The Sheetmetal Preferences dialog box opens to the Seam page.
*
Alternatively, you can select a body in the Model Tree, right-click and select Preferences. The Sheetmetal Preferences dialog box opens to the General page.
3. Select the part or a body from the list at the left. By default the part is selected.
4. To change the value of the gap setting, under Gap Settings type a new value in the Gap value box or select one of the following options from the list:
Thickness—Uses a default radius equal to the thickness of the sheet metal wall.
0.5 * Thickness—Uses a default radius equal to half the thickness of the sheet metal wall.
2.0 * Thickness—Uses a default radius equal to twice the thickness of the sheet metal wall.
Gap—Uses a default radius equal to the value set for the SMT_GAP parameter.
5. To change the seam type, under Seam Settings select a different type from the Type list:
Open—Creates an open edge rip.
*
An open type of edge rip is applicable only for a concave vertex.
Gap—Creates a gap along the edge rip according to a specified dimension.
Blind—Creates a blind edge rip according to a specified dimension.
Overlap—Creates an overlapping edge rip.
6. To change the seam width, type a new value in the Width box or select Gap to create the corner treatment with a width equal to the value set for the SMT_GAP parameter.
7. Click OK. The model regenerates using the new settings.
