To Resize Rows and Columns
You can adjust the column width and row height of the table manually or automatically. The row height and column width are set in model units, or in number of characters as measurements of height and width.
Change the Column Width
To change the column width, use one of the following methods:
Mouse Method
Select the table and then position the cursor on the side of the column until it becomes a resize cursor, and then click and drag the column boundary.
Click the cell you want to adjust. Position the cursor on the right edge of the cell you want to move and double click. The column width is adjusted according to the number of characters in the cell. If the cell is empty (contains no text), the column width will be set to one character unit.
Specific Measurement
On the Format tab, enter the desired value for the column width in the Width box. You can specify the width in number of characters.
Change the Row Height
To change the row height, use one of the following methods:
Mouse Method
Select the table and then position the cursor on the row boundary until it becomes a resize cursor, and then click and drag the row boundary.
Click the cell you want to adjust. Position the cursor on the row boundary you want to move and double click. The row height is adjusted according to the number of characters in the cell. If the cell is empty (contains no text), the row height will be set to one character unit.
Specific Measurement
On the Format tab, enter the desired value for the row height in the Height box. You can specify width in model units and number of characters.

The Height box is not available if the Auto Height is selected.
Resize Automatically with Auto Height
a. Select the table.
b. On the Format tab, select . The row height is automatically adjusted according to the number of characters.
Adjust Height and Width for Multiple Columns or Rows
1. Select the columns or rows you want to adjust.
2. On the Format tab, in the overflow menu of Height & Width, click Height and Width.
Alternatively, right-click and select Height and Width.
3. The Height and Width dialog box opens. Use the dialog box to set the new values for the selected rows or columns. You can specify the height in number of characters and width in model units and number of characters.
