To Create a Table Template
Table templates are pre-designed layouts of rows and columns for presenting information. You can create table templates in various styles and formats that are specific to your organization.
When creating a table template in MBD, it is recommended to use a medium sized model as a reference, create a table for that model and save it as a .tbl file. Using a reference model in table templates is helpful to maintain the scale of the table and the proportions of the row height, column width, and text height when using the template to create tables.
1. Create a table using any of the table creation methods.
2. Use the commands from the Format tab to create a format of your table and apply styles to cells of the table.
3. On the Table tab, click Save Table. The Save Table dialog box opens.
4. Browse to the location where you want to save the table.
5. In the File Name, type a name for the table and save as .tbl file.
Tables created and saved as templates appear in the quick tables gallery under the User Tables section. The orientation of the table image in the gallery is determined by the annotation plane defined during table creation. To display the table image as flat-to-screen in the quick tables gallery, make sure to set the annotation plane of the table accordingly when saving the table file.
