To Measure Angle
1. Click > > , or right-click the graphics window and choose Angle from the shortcut menu. The Measure dialog box opens.
2. Select the first linear reference entity.
3. Hold down the CTRL key and select a second linear entity. The angle value is shown in the measurement panel and in the Measure dialog box.
4. To toggle among different angle types, select a type from the Angle list:
◦ Main—Main angle
◦ Supplement—Supplement of the main angle (180º minus the main angle)
◦ Conjugate—Conjugate of the main angle (360º minus the main angle)
◦ Second Conjugate—Conjugate of the supplementary angle (360º minus the supplementary angle)
5. To set the range for updating an angle measurement in a saved analysis or feature if the model is redefined, click the Range button or select an option in the list.
6. To project the angle, click the Projection collector and select a reference plane, surface, axis, edge, curve, coordinate system, pipe segment (in assembly mode), or cable segment (in assembly mode). The projected angle and actual angle are displayed in the report area at the bottom of the Measure dialog box.
| If you select a coordinate system in the Projection collector, then you can select a coordinate system type: Cartesian, Polar, Spherical, or Cylindrical. |
7. To project the measurement onto a view plane that lies along your computer screen, click
. The projected angle and the actual angle are shown. Click
again to activate the
Projection collector.
