Retrieving Models and Environment Settings from the Previous Session
You can retrieve models and the environment settings of the previous Creo Parametric session provided the value of last_session_retrieval configuration option is set to yes. Creo Parametric saves the session information to temporary files.
These temporary files are saved in the pseinfo directory located at the path specified by the last_session_directory_path configuration option or the default path WFROOT/.Settings directory provided there is sufficient disk space and permissions. Creo Parametric uses information from the previous session to retrieve models and environment settings in the next session.
|
• The session information saved consists of last saved version information of the models and environment settings used in the session, that is, current_session.pro and Model Tree settings. Information related to geometry or model is not saved.
• More than one Creo Parametric session with the same WFROOT directory is not supported.
|
If the session information cannot be saved at the specified location due to insufficient disk space, insufficient permissions, or the location being set to a PDM server, Creo Parametric displays an appropriate message and the following options:
• Close—Closes the message box and the session continues. You can subsequently, create space on the disk, specify appropriate access permissions, or specify a different location for the pseinfo directory to resolve the problem.
• Retry—Saves the information provided you have created space on the disk or specified appropriate access permissions to resolve the problem. This option is not available if the message is due to location being set to a PDM server.
Retrieval After an Unexpected Exit
When you start a new session after the previous session exits unexpectedly, Creo Parametric displays an appropriate message and the following options:
Retrieve—Retrieves last saved model files and environment settings from the previous session. Clicking Retrieve opens the Retrieval dialog box that lists the top level models which were displayed in the previous session. You can click the check boxes corresponding to the models that you want to retrieve and click Open.
|
• If you click Allow retrieval of non displayed models checkbox in the Retrieval dialog box all the models that were not displayed in the previous session are retrieved.
• You cannot retrieve models in the following scenarios,
◦ If a model from the previous session is missing, Creo Parametric displays an appropriate message and the following options.
▪ Ignore All—Closes the message box, ignores all missing models, and continues retrieving all available models from the previous session.
▪ Ignore—Closes the message box and ignores the missing models. However, the message reappears if there are more missing models.
▪ Cancel—Closes the message box, terminates the retrieval process, and continues with the session with the models that you have already retrieved.
◦ If the temporary files that contain the information were created in a later version of Creo Parametric and you try to retrieve these models in an earlier version then, Creo Parametric informs you that the models and environment settings cannot be retrieved. Clicking Close in the message box closes the message box and starts the new session.
|
Continue—Closes the message box, terminates the retrieval process, and starts the new session.
However, if you want to retrieve the previous session even after clicking Continue, click > . The Open Last Session command becomes unavailable after you load a model using > or >
Retrieval After a Normal Exit
After you start a Creo Parametric session you can retrieve models and the environment settings from the previous session by clicking > or > . This command becomes unavailable after you load a model using > or > .
