To Modify an Appearance from the Model
1. Click
View and then click the arrow below
Appearances. The appearance gallery opens.
If the active model does not have any appearances, the default appearance is displayed in the Model palette. If only the default appearance is applied to the model, Edit Model Appearances is not available for selection. Only appearances other than the default appearances can be modified.
Edit Model Appearances is available for selection if an assembly is opened.
2. Click Edit Model Appearances. The Model Appearance Editor dialog box opens. The Appearance Gallery closes.
Alternatively, to modify an appearance in the active model, you can right click on the appearance thumbnail swatch in the Model palette and select Edit from the shortcut menu. The Model Appearance Editor dialog box opens.
3. Click
to select and modify an appearance.
If an assembly is opened, you can select an appearance applied to any part or sub-assembly. The selected appearance need not be from the active model. If the selected appearance is not from the active model, none of the thumbnail swatches in the Model palette are highlighted and the Model palette collapses. You can expand the Model palette and select a thumbnail swatch to modify an appearance in the active model.
4. If required, change the Name, Keyword and Description.
5. If required, in the Properties tab, change the Class and Sub Class for the appearance.
6. Modify the properties using sliders and boxes based on the Class and Sub Class that you select. The model appearance updates dynamically. The modified appearance is applied to the selected object in the model. In the context of an assembly, the modified appearance is stored with the model where the appearance is applied.
7. Click Close in the Model Appearance Editor to close the dialog box.
