To Automatically locate Item in the Model Tree
1. In the Model Tree, ensure that the Auto Locate in Tree check box is selected from the 
Show list.

2. In the graphics window, select an item that you want to automatically locate in the model tree. Alternatively, if the Auto Locate in Tree check box is not selected in the model tree, select the item, right-click, and click Auto Locate in Tree on the shortcut menu. The relevant branch in the model tree expands up to the selected feature and its node is highlighted.
