HMX Debug Panel
Error reporting and handling have been improved in HMX V50+. You can use HMX Debug Panel to identify and resolve issues with harnesses and assemblies.
Errors
The following error types are displayed in the HMX Debug Panel, when encountered during the HMX processing of a harness:
Topology cannot be resolved in the following scenarios:
Unsupported Axial: Too complex – Closed loops have been detected within the axial topology section.
Unsupported Axial: Flaring at Axial Loop– The axial topology section starts or ends on a connector that is detected by HMX as to be flared. The routing must adhere to the splice handling rules.
Unsupported Axial: Axial Loop – Closed Loops wit axial components were detected.
Unsupported Axial: Connector Loop — Closed Loops that start and/or end on a connector were detected. Locations are required before or after the connector to resolve the harness.
Multiple topographies detected – The harness currently being processed has segment paths that are not attached to each other.
Closed Loop – Closed loops with more than 3 sides have been detected. These closed loops must be simplified because HMX cannot process them.
Unsupported Location Routing – HMX cannot process routing at the identified location. Check wires and cables near this location to ensure they are routed through common locations. Verify that all wires share a single path to the connector, with a common location immediately before routing to the connector.
Bulging Closed Loop – Closed loops with one segment larger than the sum of the other two have been detected. These closed loops must be simplified, as HMX cannot process them.
Unsupported Routing – The routing at the highlighted locations cannot be processed by HMX and must be simplified.
Warnings
The following warnings are also output to the HMX Debug Panel, when encountered during the HMX processing of a harness:
Incomplete Cables—Incomplete cables have been detected in the harness being processed.
Mixed Spool Units—The spools in the current assembly have both inch and millimeter units.
Physical and Logical Mismatch—The physical and logical routings of the displayed cables are different. HMX defaults to using the logical information.
Embedded Components—HMX does not support embedded components. Embedded components will not be present in the drawing.
Component Location—Multiple components are placed at the same location in the 3D harness and cannot be displayed in the drawing.
Components Placed Incorrectly—Components were not placed correctly in the HMX drawing. These components must adhere to the associated geometry component rules.
Components Not Placed—Components were unable to be placed in the HMX drawing. These components must adhere to the associated geometry component rules.
