To Define and Edit Welding Materials
To Define a New Welding Material
1. Click Applications > Welding. The Welding tab opens.
2. Click Weld Material. The Weld Materials dialog box opens.
3. Click New weld material.
4. Type a name for the welding material in the Weld material name box and press ENTER.
5. Select a previously defined material from the Material list, or create a new material by doing the following actions:
a. Click Define. The Materials dialog box opens.
b. Select the material from the list and click . The material is added to the Materials in Model list.
c. Click OK.
6. If necessary, type or select a value for diameter in the Diameter box.
7. If necessary, type or select a value for length in the Length box.
8. If necessary, define user-defined parameters on the Parameters tab.
9. Click OK. The welding material appears in the Model Tree, represented by .

If legacy welding materials exist in your project, they are converted to the current format when you retrieve them. If a welding material with the same name already exists in the model, the legacy material is converted with the same name but with a number as part of its name. The new material includes density, with units based on the values specified in the legacy welding material.
To Edit an Existing Welding Material
1. Open the Weld Materials dialog box using one of the following methods:
In the Model Tree, right-click a welding material and choose Edit Definition from the shortcut menu.
Click Applications > Welding, and then on the Welding tab, click Weld Material.
2. Select the welding material to edit from the list.
3. Edit as required.
4. Click OK.
