About the Extend User Interface
The Extend user interface consists of commands, tabs, and shortcut menus. To access the Extend tool, click > .
Commands
Use the Extend commands to define the type of wall extension:
• Along Original Surface—Extends the wall from the selected edge by a specified value.
Extend by value box, click
to reverse the direction of the wall extension to the other side of the reference.
• Up to Intersecting—Extends the wall from the selected edge to intersect a surface or a reference plane.
Plane collector.
• Up to Plane—Extends the wall from the selected edge up to a planar surface or a reference plane, remaining parallel to the selected edge.
Plane collector.
Tabs
• References—Displays the selected edge or surface reference in the collector.
• Extension—Controls the start and end sides of the wall extension.
◦ Normal to Extended Edge—Extends the wall normal to the referenced edge.
◦ Along Boundary Edge—Extends the wall along the boundary edge.
Extend surface adjacent to edge—Extends the surface adjacent to the boundary edge.
• Properties—Displays detailed feature information:
◦ Name—Shows a default name for the wall.
◦ —Shows feature information in a browser.
Shortcut Menus
Right-click the graphics window to access the shortcut commands:
• Clear—Removes the reference from the active collector.
• Wall Edge—Activates the wall edge collector.
Types of wall extension:
• Extend by Value—Extends the wall by a specified value.
• Flip—Reverses the direction of the wall extension to the other side of the reference, when Extend by Value is selected.
• Extend Through Until—Extends the wall from the selected edge up to a planar surface or a reference plane.
• Extend to Selected—Extends the wall from the selected edge to intersect a surface or a reference plane.
• Reference Plane—Activates the reference plane collector. Available when Extend Through Until or Extend to Selected is selected.
Right-click the Extension handle to access the shortcut commands:
• Normal to Extended Edge—Extends the wall normal to the referenced edge.
• Along Boundary Edge—Extends the wall along the boundary edge.
