Hole Parameters
When you create a standard Hole feature, it includes the parameters listed in the following tables. These are read-only system parameters, whose values are taken from the hole chart. To add user-defined parameters to the hole chart, see Hole Charts.
Starting from Creo 10, you can add parameters to simple holes. These behave similarly to the parameters in standard holes.
You can view the parameters by right-clicking a hole in the Model Tree and choosing either Parameters or Information > Feature Information. The parameters also appear on the Properties tab of the Hole tool.
Some of the parameters are available only when specific options are set.
Parameters in simple flat holes
Description
DRILL_DEPTH
Drill depth of blind and symmetric hole.
For symmetric hole, the value is half the total depth.
DRILL_DEPTH_SIDE2
Side 2 drill depth of blind and symmetric hole.
For symmetric hole, the value is half the total depth.
DRILL_DIAMETER
Diameter of hole.
HOLE_TYPE
Token value is SIMPLE_FLAT.

Number of threads per inch.
Additional parameters in standard straight holes
Description
DRILL_DIAMETER
Drill diameter of straight hole.
DRILL_POINT_ANGLE
Tip angle of straight hole with blind depth.
THREAD_DIAMETER
Thread diameter of straight hole.
Additional parameters in standard tapered holes
Description
HANDTIGHT_LENGTH
Distance that a pipe thread can be screwed into a fitting by hand before it jams.
MAJOR_DIAM_END
Diameter of the largest part of a thread across the bottom of the thread.
MAJOR_DIAM_START
Diameter of the largest part of a thread across the top of the thread.
MINOR_DIAM_END
Diameter of the smallest part of a thread across the bottom of the thread.
MINOR_DIAM_START

PITCH_DIAM_START
Top of a cylinder along the threading whose diameter is half the distance between the crest and the root of the threading.
STRAIGHT_DEC
Diameter of straight drill.
STRAIGHT_DEPTH
Depth of straight drill. Available for tapered holes with blind depth option of straight drill.
STRAIGHT_TIP_ANGLE

TAPERED_TIP_ANGLE
Tip angle of a tapered hole.
THREAD
Number of threads per inch.
THREAD_ANGLE
Angle between the sides of a screw thread, measured in an axial plane.
THREAD_HEIGHT
Distance between the minor and major thread diameters measured along the radius.
TOOTH_RADIUS
Radius of the rounding at the thread crest (at the tip of each tooth) or thread root (between teeth). Available for tapered holes that use ISO data.
WASHOUT_ANGLE
Angle between the surface at the point that threading begins, and the thread root at the point at which the threading achieves its full depth, over the length of the washout thread.
WRENCHING_LENGTH
Distance that a pipe thread can be screwed into a fitting using a wrench before it jams.
ECAD parameters in holes
When you create a Hole feature in ECAD, it includes the parameters listed below.
*
These parameters are not created for holes with a Sketched profile, or for holes with placement type Sketched.
Additional parameters in ECAD holes
Description
ECAD_ASSOCIATED_PART
In the ECAD system, this is the part to which the Creo Parametric hole feature relates.
Can be edited on the Properties tab.
ECAD_HOLE_OWNER
Owner of the hole feature, ECAD, MCAD, or UNOWNED.
ECAD_HOLE_TYPE
The type of hole feature. If the hole is not imported as a feature, the parameter is not imported.
Can be edited on the Properties tab.
ECAD_PLATING_STYLE
Plated through hole, non-plated through hole.
