To Place a Manikin into a Scene
1. Open a saved design assembly into which to place the manikin.
2. Click Manikin > Insert Manikin. The Open dialog box showing the manikin library and the Place Manikin dialog box open.
*
For information about setting the path to the library, see To Set the Manikin Library Path.
3. In Open dialog box, select a manikin model from the list, and click Open.
4. In the Place Manikin dialog box, select or clear the Use placeholder check box.
*
By default, the manikin model is automatically assembled into a placeholder assembly before it is inserted into the design scene. Although this is considered the best practice, you can clear the placeholder check box to insert a manikin model without a placeholder assembly.
5. Type a name for the manikin model or accept the default name.
6. To set the manikin’s posture, select the Standing or Sitting check box.
7. To select a surface for the manikin to stand or sit on, click the Place on collector, and select a curved or flat surface. Click to flip the direction 180°.
8. To enable the placement connection when you insert the manikin, select the Enable placement connection check box.
To enable the placement connections by default when you insert a manikin, set the keep_manikin_placement_enabled configuration option to yes.
9. To select a direction for the manikin to face, click the Facing collector, and select a surface or datum plane. Click to flip the direction 180°.
10. Click OK.
