To Create a PTC Mathcad Analysis
1. Click Analysis > Mathcad Analysis. The Mathcad Analysis dialog box opens.
2. To retrieve a previously saved analysis, click Saved Analyses and select the desired analysis. Click Retrieve to retrieve the selected analysis.
To load an existing PTC Mathcad file, click Load File under File and select a file with a .xmcd extension. To create a new PTC Mathcad file, click New File.
*
If you created a new file, saving the file will automatically load it into the current analysis feature.
3. After loading or creating the PTC Mathcad file, define the analysis as required.
4. Click Auto-mapping under File to automatically map tagged PTC Mathcad input variables to Creo Parametric parameters that have the same names.
*
Set the mathcad_automapping configuration option to yes if you want the Auto-mapping check box to be selected by default.
5. Specify the dimensions or parameters of the model to be associated with the tagged PTC Mathcad input variables.
To associate a dimension, click Add Dimension under PTC Creo Parametric to Mathcad and select a dimension from the displayed model that you want to use in the analysis. The Input Selection dialog box opens. Select the PTC Mathcad input variable that you want to map to the selected dimension. Click OK to continue, or click Refresh to refresh the list of PTC Mathcad input variables displayed.
*
Only the PTC Mathcad assignment variables in the math region that have the proe2mc tag appear in the Input Selection dialog box.
To associate a parameter, click Add Parameter, select a parameter that you want to use in the analysis from the Parameter Selection dialog box, and click OK. The Input Selection dialog box opens. Select the PTC Mathcad input variable that you want to map to the selected parameter. Click OK to select another parameter.
The dimension and parameter selected for the analysis appear in the PTC Creo Parametric to Mathcad table in the Mathcad Analysis dialog box. For each dimension or parameter, the table lists its current value and the corresponding PTC Mathcad assignment variable.
To remove a dimension or parameter from the selection, select a row in the PTC Creo Parametric to Mathcad table and click Remove.
6. Specify the PTC Mathcad output variables for computation in Creo Parametric.
Click under Mathcad to PTC Creo Parametric to select the PTC Mathcad output variables to compute from the Outputs Selection dialog box and click OK to continue. The selected PTC Mathcad output variables appear in the Outputs box in the Mathcad Analysis dialog box.
*
Only the PTC Mathcad output variables in the math region that have the mc2proe tag appear in the Outputs Selection dialog box.
Right-click and use Select All or Unselect All options from the shortcut menu to select or clear the selection of all PTC Mathcad output variables.
7. Specify the reference coordinate system with respect to which the datum points, the datum curve and the datum coordinate system are defined while creating the PTC Mathcad analysis feature.
Click Use Default Csys to specify the default model coordinate system. Use Default Csys is selected by default. If you clear its selection, the box becomes available. Click to select a desired reference coordinate system.
8. Click Compute to run the analysis. The PTC Mathcad output variables are displayed along with their computed values and units in the Results table.
9. To view the results of the analysis in a separate Information window, click Info.
10. To save the analysis, click Saved Analyses, enter its name, and click .
11. To save this analysis in an analysis feature, click Add Feature and enter a name for the feature. A new analysis feature appears on the Model Tree.
12. Click Close to quit PTC Mathcad analysis.
