To Set the Font Based Symbol Palette
The symbol_font detail option defines the font to use for symbols that are available in Creo annotations:
1. Click > > . The Model Properties dialog box opens.
2. Under Detailing, next to Detail Options, click Change.
3. Under Active Model, click symbol_font in the These options control dimensions list.
4. In the Value box, select the symbol font. All symbols are available in the Symbols gallery.
◦ asme—Symbols of the ASME font. This is the default setting. However, it is adjusted according to the template of the model or drawing.
◦ iso—Symbols of the ISO font.
◦ legacy—Symbols of the Legacy font are available, if you retrieve a model or drawing created in Creo 3.0 or earlier.
◦ stroked_asme—Symbols of the ASME fonts that are native to Creo.
◦ stroked_iso—Symbols of the ISO fonts native to Creo.
5. Click Add / Change.
6. Click OK.

When you use symbols with asme fonts with an annotation, and change the value to legacy, the following occurs:
• The symbols are first checked in legacy, if the symbols are available in legacy, those are displayed with legacy fonts.
• If the symbols are not available in legacy, the symbols are checked in the annotation font, if the symbols are available, the symbols are displayed as per the font. To view the annotation fonts, > > list.
However, if the symbols are not available in legacy and in the annotation font, the missing symbols are displayed as square symbols.
