About Settings for ECAD Assemblies
You can set modeling options for ECAD assemblies and ECAD-MCAD exchange options in the Creo Parametric Options dialog box. Setting these options parallels the setting of configuration options. Click File > Options > ECAD Assembly to access the ECAD Assembly options.
Template Settings—Sets the path to ECAD templates.
Path for ECAD assembly template (template_ecadasm)—Sets the file and path of the model used as the default ECAD assembly template.
Path for ECAD board template (template_ecadpart)—Sets the file and path of the model used as the default ECAD board template.
ECAD Collaboration – Check Dependency Events From check boxes—Checks for dependencies from the selected items. These settings apply to ECAD assemblies and legacy design assemblies for ECAD designs.
Board Changes (ecadcollab_scan_des_on_brd_chg)
Component Changes (ecadcollab_scan_des_on_comp_chg)
Hole Changes (ecadcollab_scan_des_on_hole_chg)
ECAD Area Changes (ecadcollab_scan_des_on_area_chg)
ECAD Collaboration – Redefine Affected—Redefines the selected items automatically. These settings apply to ECAD assemblies and legacy design assemblies for ECAD designs.
Components (ecadcollab_auto_redef_comps)
Holes (ecadcollab_auto_redef_holes)
ECAD Areas (ecadcollab_auto_redef_areas)
ECAD Collaboration – Miscellaneous Settings—Contains the following options:
Suppress cut features upon board changes (ecadcollab_suppress_cuts)—Suppresses cut features
Preview Level (ecadcollab_preview_level)—Sets the preview level.
Partial (default)—Displays only the updated, changed and regenerated assembly. All board and assembly design changes are visible in Creo Parametric. The dependency changes are not visible until you refresh the view.
Light—Displays the updated assembly as a 2D outline with the following preview colors:
Orange for current
Green for the accepted changes
Blue for baseline
Full—Provides an accurate preview of all changes. Failed and dependent objects are suppressed or redefined according to the ECAD Collaboration - Redefine affected options.
Reject State Settings—Sets the way collaboration changes are rejected.
Prompt for selection—Prompts you to select the state to restore a rejected object for each object you reject.
Use Base—Restores a rejected object to the base state when it is defined. When a base state is not defined, the rejected object is restored to the original state.
Use Original—Restores a rejected object to the original state.
ECAD Collaboration – Colors—Modifies the default colors for the following collaboration options:
Accepted (ecadcollab_accept_color)—Sets the color for accepted changes to objects during ECAD collaboration.
Rejected to baseline (ecadcollab_reject_color)—Sets the color for rejected changes to objects during ECAD collaboration.
Preview Before (ecadcollab_preview_before_color)—Sets the color for an object changed on the ECAD side, before the change.
Preview After (ecadcollab_preview_after_color)—Sets the color for an object changed on the ECAD side, after the change.
ECAD Assembly – Context Data
Geometry representation on import (ecad_imp_conductor_def_geom_rep)—Sets the default geometry representation of ECAD context data when you import it into a design.
All Entities (default)—All ECAD context data is imported as entities.
All Surfaces—All ECAD context data that can be imported as surfaces, is imported as surfaces.
All ECAD context data that can be imported as quilts, is imported as quilts.
Display (ecad_conductor_display)—Sets the context for the display of ECAD context data objects.
Only in ECAD mode (default)—ECAD context data objects are visible only in the context of an ECAD Assembly and an ECAD board part.
Always—ECAD context data objects are always visible.
Save method (ecad_save_conductor_data)—Sets how to save ECAD context data when the model is saved.
Full (default)—All ECAD context data information is saved.
Minimal—Minimal required data is saved to allow ECAD context data information to be calculated. This is the recommended value as it saves the ECAD context data raw data but uses minimal disk space. When the model is retrieved, ECAD context data is retrieved as entities. You must update their position and reassign geometry representation.
No—ECAD context data is not saved.
Load (ecad_load_conductor_data)—Loads ECAD context data when the model is opened or retrieved.
Font mapping method—Defines how to handle missing fonts when processing ECAD context data. The replacing font is set by the Replacement font.
Missing fonts only—Replaces only missing fonts with the defined font.
Replace all—Replaces all fonts with the defined font.
Replacement font—Sets the font to use instead of the missing and undefined fonts detected when importing the ECAD context data. Select a font from the list. The default font is iso30985font.ndx.
ECAD Assembly – Miscellaneous Settings—Modifies the following options:
Path for user defined ECAD area file (ecad_usrdef_area_type_file_path)—Sets the filename and path of the CSV file containing a list of user defined ECAD areas.
Component follow board (ecad_comp_follow_board)—Sets ECAD components to follow the flexible board surface for bend, unbend, and bend back operations.
