To Split a Harness
1. Click Harness > Split Harness. The Split Harness dialog box opens.
2. Select the split location point on the harness that you want to split.
3. Click the arrow on the harness part to change the direction in which the harness is split. The highlighted cables indicate the portion of the harness that will be split into a new harness part.
4. Select Dependent or Independent split type.
For an independent split there are additional options:
Below Independent Split Options click Create Subassembly if you want to place the new harness part into a new subassembly. Then follow the steps for general assembly component creation and placement.
Select the Move referenced components box to move all referenced components into the new subassembly.
5. Click OK.
To Merge two harnesses
1. Click Harness > Merge Harness. The Merge Harness dialog box opens.
2. Select a harness to merge into the active harness and follow one of the steps below:
When the harness is independent, select the Move spools, Move components, or Move skeleton check boxes, as needed.
When the harness is dependent, continue to next step.
3. Click OK.
