Previously, defining a pattern feature in GD&T Advisor was limited to cylindrical features created within a single Creo pattern. This constraint made it difficult to apply pattern-based annotations to same-size cylinders that were modeled independently.
Now, GD&T Advisor supports pattern feature definition using intent surface collections. When your design includes same-size cylindrical features that are not part of a single Creo pattern, you can collect their surfaces using intent references such as datum reference features and evaluate them collectively as a pattern feature in GD&T Advisor.
This enhancement streamlines annotation creation workflow and improves flexibility when working with repeated geometry that was not originally patterned.
The image below shows how GD&T Advisor enables pattern feature definition using intent surface collections for same-size cylindrical geometry.
Benefits
You can now define GD&T Advisor pattern features for same-size cylindrical geometry even when the features were not created using a single Creo pattern. This enhancement supports a wider range of modeling scenarios, including:
• Multiple pattern features
• Imported geometry
• User-defined features (UDFs)
• Pattern recognition
Additional Information
Tips:
None.
Limitations:
All cylinders collected within an intent surface object must be of the same size to qualify as a pattern feature in GD&T Advisor.
