In the HSM Rough and HSM Rest Rough sequences, you can use the following new parameters for 3 axis or 3+2 axis machining:
• UPCUT_CUT_FEED and UPCUT_STEP_OVER—These parameters are applicable for the CONSTANT_LOAD scan type with the ZIG_ZAG or UPCUT cut type. Use these parameters to define less aggressive values of cutting feeds and step overs for the upcut passes instead of the STEP_OVER and CUT_FEED values.
• START_POINT_SHIFT_PERCENT—This parameter is applicable for TYPE_SPIRAL scan type. It shifts the start point of the next pass according to the specified percentage of stepover.
Benefits
• The UPCUT_CUT_FEED and UPCUT_STEP_OVER parameters provide the following benefits:
◦ Better control on feeds for upcut passes
◦ Reduced chattering marks and improved tool life
• The START_POINT_SHIFT_PERCENT parameter provides the following benefits:
◦ Smoother entry to the next pass
◦ Reduced cutting load on the tool
• Consistent with Creo NC workflows
