Extend Feature: Maintain Tangency of Extension Boundary Edges
Creo+
User Interface Location: Click Model > Extend.
Description
In Creo 13, the Extend feature is enhanced to maintain tangency of the boundary edges.
This applies to the Extend methods Same, Approximate, and Extrapolate.
When extending surfaces, the geometry of the new boundary edges is improved to maintain tangency where this is possible, corresponding to the tangency of the original edges. This can contribute to better surface quality and can also help to reach larger extension distances.
Previously tangent boundary edges could become non-tangent more quickly.
Benefits
Improved geometric surface quality when extending surfaces.
Additional Information
Tips:
None.
Limitations:
Depending on the geometric situation, it might not always be possible to maintain tangency.
Does this replace existing functionality?
No.
