About Bend Allowance Settings
You can define the following sheet metal bend allowance settings:
• Factor type and value to calculate developed length
• Bend allowance table to calculate the developed length of arcs
• If the material assigned to the part drives bend allowance parameters.
When the material defines the bend allowance settings, the values of the parameters appear in the Preferences dialog box. Note that when the body is linked to the part, the bend allowance settings are taken from the part material and not from the body material even when it is not the same as the part material. When you unlink the body from the part, the material and bend allowance settings are taken from the body material.
For legacy parts created in releases 7 to 11 parameters are not updated in the Preferences dialog box, even though the values are taken properly.
