Associate an external simplified model to an existing simplification definition
1. Apply the existing simplification definition to the owning part or assembly using
Execute.
2. Import the external simplified model.
3. Click
Simplification and then, in the
Manage group, click
Associate. The
Associate dialog box opens.
4. In the Owner box, select the owner of the existing simplification definition.
5. In the FeatName box, select the existing simplification definition.
6. In the External Simplification box, select the imported external simplified model.
7. Click

to complete the operation. A confirmation message appears to inform you that the geometry of the owner model will be replaced by the imported external simplified model.
8. Click Continue. If the external simplified model is a part, the owner part geometry is replaced, and if it is an assembly, the owner assembly and part geometry is replaced.
| To maintain geometric consistency, the resolution of the owner model is replaced by the resolution of the imported external simplified model during the above operation. |
