Creo Elements/Direct Cabling Tutorial 6: Step 2 of 5
Route wires through clamps
Now you will route four wires through the clamps.
To route wires through a clamp,
1. Click Cabling and then, in the Manual Routing group, click Through clamps. The Cabling Through Clamps dialog box and the Select_Cabling_Type dialog box open.
2. Select Wire in the Select_Cabling_Type dialog box. The Wires dialog box opens.
3. Select AWG 12 and click Apply:
4. Catch the center of one of the pins on the blue connector to set the start point.
5. Click on each of the clamps, going toward the green connector. The wire routes automatically through the clamps.
6. Click End Pnt in the menu, then catch to the center of one of the pins on the green connector.
7. You will probably have to set the Tang Dir on the endpoints to make the wires go into the connectors correctly.
8. Click OK to complete the operation.
9. Repeat these steps to route the other three wires.
Note how the wires go through the clamps, but they are offset. After adding the third and fourth wire, you will notice they no longer go through the clamps correctly. We will fix this issue in upcoming steps.
