Once you have specified a simplification definition, you apply it to the part or assembly. Click Simplification and then, in the Manage group, click Execute to display the Execute dialog box containing the following:
• Owner: Specifies the owner of the simplification definition.
• FeatName: Specifies the name of the simplification feature (that is, the simplified part).
• Part Simplification: Specifies one of the following:
◦ On: All parts are simplified according to the parameters specified in the Geometry and Face menus.
• Off: Only structure parameters are applied as specified in the Structure menu.
• Structure: This command lets you select the type of structure. The element ID of the assembly is kept for both Merged and Fixed options.
• Merged:
◦ Simplified parts are merged into one or several non-connected volumes.
◦ The structure below the simplified assembly is replaced by new parts.
◦ The new parts contain new geometric elements (faces, edges) with new element IDs.
◦ If mass properties are requested, the complete assembly is assigned a mass property
• Fixed:
◦ The result consists of the simplified parts of the assembly. Non-relevant parts may be empty.
◦ The assembly structure is kept unchanged.
◦ All element IDs of subparts and subassemblies are kept.
◦ The element IDs of the remaining geometric elements (faces, edges) are kept.
◦ If mass properties are requested, each part is assigned a mass property.
