Adjust the tool depth
The depth option is available only for punch tools. For each tool punch the default punch depth is defined by the material's thickness. This default guarantees that no other sheets in the punch path are affected.
In some cases you may want to change the default depth. For example, you deliberately want to punch in a bend area where the default punch depth would create an incomplete result.
To change the default punch depth,
1. Click Depth.
Creo Elements/Direct Sheet Metal prompts you to specify the new depth value.
2. Enter a depth value, for example 5.
The tool feedback does not change.
3. Click on the sheet metal part to position the tool.
The tool's depth value stays the same until you redefine the depth or choose a new tool.
Make sure that, unless planned, the changed punch depth does not cause a punch into another sheet element.
*
If you do punch through another sheet element, the hole in the second sheet belongs to the same feature, and leads to problems with text and reference point when the flat drawing is generated.
