Identify threads from imported geometry
You can identify threads in parts that are imported from other CAD systems like Creo Parametric, SolidWorks, and Autodesk Inventor. You can also create face parts for identification of threads.
To create face parts,
1. Click Part Library and then, in the Thread group, click the arrow next to Attach.
2. Under Import geometry, click Thread Face Parts. The Thread Face Parts dialog box opens.
3. Click Parts and select the part.
4. Click Cyl.Face and select a cylindrical face.
5. In the Config box, select the type of part.
6. Click OK to complete the operation.
To identify threads,
1. Click Part Library and then, in the Thread group, click the arrow next to Attach.
2. Under Import geometry, click Identify Threads. The Identify Threads dialog box opens.
3. Click Part and select the imported part.
4. In the Config box, select the type of part.
5. Click OK. The Threads Identification dialog box opens.
6. Click Accept All. The Accept Suggestion dialog box opens in which you can choose to either accept or reject suggestions.
7. Click OK to close the Accept Suggestion dialog box.
8. Click Convert in the Threads Identification dialog box. The Convert Threads dialog box opens.
9. Under Not accepted, select the Accept suggestion check box to accept suggestions that were not accepted earlier.
10. Under Face parts, select the Delete check box to delete face parts.
11. Click OK to complete the operation and convert the threads.
