Create a simplified assembly
Creo Elements/Direct Part Library allows you to create a simplified assembly by replacing all parts by the enclosing cube or cylinder. Thus, you can safely share the assembly if required, without sharing the details.
To create a simplified assembly,
1. Click Part Library and then, in the Part & Assembly group, click More.
2. Under Simplify, click Cube Assembly. The Cube Assembly dialog box opens.
3. Click Source and select the source assembly in the viewport.
4. In the Name box, type a name for the simplified assembly.
5. Click Owner and select an owning assembly.
6. Under Copy, click Part/Assy and select the parts or assemblies that must not be simplified. Creo Elements/Direct Part Library copies the selected models to the simplified assembly.
7. Select the Color check box and select a color for the copied models.
8. Under Library Parts, select the Ignore check box to ignore all library parts.
9. Under Small Parts, select the Ignore check box to ignore all parts that are smaller than a specific size. Specify the dimensions in the Length, Width, and Height boxes.
10. Under Drawlist Current Viewport, select the Ignore Not Shown check box to ignore all parts that are not shown in the active viewport.
11. Under Turned Parts, select the As Cylinder check box to enclose all turned parts in cylinders instead of cubes.
12. Under Merge, click one of the following:
Off—To retain the part structure. Each part in the simplified assembly corresponds to a part in the source assembly. This is the default.
Cube—To merge parts in the simplified assembly. Copied parts are not merged.
Cubes Level 1—To merge all first-level parts in the simplified assembly.
All—To merge all parts in the simplified assembly, including copied parts.
13. Click OK to complete the operation.
