Check for undercuts
To check a part or set of faces for undercuts along a given direction,
1. Click Mold Base and then, in the Analysis group, click Undercut. The Undercut dialog box opens.
2. If necessary, click Part and specify a different part to check, or click Faces and select a number of faces on one part (use the Select tool).
3. Specify the Direction (using the Direction 3D tool) along which the part is to be checked.
4. Click Both Sides off to detect undercuts only in the specified direction, and not in the reverse direction as well. This important when planning sliders.
5. Click Keep Silh on to imprint the silhouette edges onto the undercut faces after the undercut check is complete. Otherwise they are discarded.
6. Click Start to begin the check. The faces containing undercuts are highlighted in red. If there are no undercuts, Mold Design informs you of this: "There are no undercuts in the specified part for the specified pull direction."
7. Click OK when you are finished.
