Analyze the angle between surfaces
While working with surfaces, you may occasionally encounter situations in which faces appear to be smoothly connected along an edge, but which may not be. To help analyze connections between faces, Creo Elements/Direct Modeling provides a face-angle analysis utility that determines the maximum angle along an edge between two faces.
Graphical feedback shows you the angle between the faces all along the edge. This can give you an idea of how smoothly the surfaces are connected. Move the cursor along the edge to control this dynamic feedback.
The figure shows an example of the graphical feedback of the angle along an edge between two faces. The cyan indicators on the left show you where the maximal angle along the edge is located.
To analyze the angle between surfaces (faces),
1. Click Analysis and then, in the Analyse group, click Angle. The Angle Analysis dialog box opens.
2. Click the edge you want to analyze.
Creo Elements/Direct Modeling displays the maximum angle along the edge in the Max Angle field in the Angle Analysis dialog box. Also, the location of this angle on the edge is shown in the viewport by cyan indicators. The other indicators show the edge angle at the cursor location.
3. Move the cursor in the viewport to see the angle along the edge.
4. Click to finish the angle analysis.
