In this example, you will create a loft using the parts shown.
Example: Creating a Part-Part Loft
After creating the parts:
1. Click Modeling and then, in the Model group, click More.
2. Click To Part in Basic Loft section. The Loft to Part and Select dialog boxes open.
3. Specify the part to create. Click Part, and enter /loft in the data entry field next to Part.
4. Click the option list next to Type and choose Part/Part.
5. Specify the part edges for the loft. Click Edges1. Creo Elements/Direct Modeling displays the Select menu. Add (under List) is already pressed, so click By Face (under Methods). Then click one of the part faces facing each other. Creo Elements/Direct Modeling closes the Select menu and highlights the clicked part face and its edges.
6. Click the option list next to Tangents1 and choose To Faces. Creo Elements/Direct Modeling displays the Define Tangent menu. Click Apply to accept the default settings. A turquoise line visualizing the tangent appears on the adjacent face.
7. Click Edges2 and proceed as above to select and highlight the opposing part face and its edges.
8. Click the option list next to Tangents2 and choose To Faces. Click Apply to accept the default settings.
9. To add the matchline click Complete ML. Then click a vertex on each of the highlighted faces.
10. To preview the loft, click Preview.
11. Make sure Check Part is clicked on.
12. Click to complete the operation.
Creo Elements/Direct Modeling creates the loft between the two parts.
