You can change the position and owner of an existing sketch, either on the same sheet or onto another sheet. There are a number of methods to reposition a sketch.
To move a sketch,
Click a sketch and drag it to a new position.
If you are accustomed to our earlier versions, you can still use the original menu:
1. Click Insert and then, in the Sketch group, click Move. The Modify Sketch Position dialog box opens.
2. Specify the sketch to move in one of the following ways:
◦ Enter the name of the sketch in the Sketch box.
◦ Click the sketch in the viewport.
◦ Select the sketch from the Drawing Browser.
The sketch is replaced by a box attached to the cursor, and the move operation begins in Dynamic mode. There are three other options to move the sketch, described below.
3. In Dynamic mode, specify the destination point for the sketch in one of the following ways:
◦ Click the position in the viewport.
◦ Enter coordinates for the point in the user input line.
4. Continue specifying sketches to move, or click to complete the operation.
Alternatively, right-click and select a move option.
Two Pts
Specify two points (by clicking or with coordinates) to define a distance and direction to move the sketch.
Horizontal
Enter a horizontal offset in the user input line, or specify two points (by clicking or with coordinates) to define a horizontal distance and direction to move the sketch.
Vertical
Enter a vertical offset in the user input line, or specify two points (by clicking or with coordinates) to define a vertical distance and direction to move the sketch.
Click Cancel during the move operation to abort it and leave the sketch in its original position.
5. To change the owner of a sketch, under Change Owner, click the new type of owner for the sketch. A sketch can belong to a Sheet, Frame, View, or another Sketch.
6. Specify the new owner of the sketch in one of the following ways:
◦ Select the owner from the Drawing Browser.
◦ Type the owner's name in the relevant field or select the name in the box.
◦ Click the owner in the viewport.
7. Click change owner + keep pos to change the owner of the sketch without changing the position.
8. Click Copy to copy the sketch. In the Repeat box, type or select the number of copies.
Move. The Modify Sketch Position dialog box opens.
