Candidate features
The following examples show how candidate features are simplified. The highlighted edges define the bounding loops.
Bosses and pockets defined by an internal loop
Bored hole defined by two ore more closed loops
Slots/ribs defined by outline and parallel top faces
Faces are parallel if they have the same underlying geometry that is:
Parallel planes
Cylinder with same axis, axis-direction and radius
Freeform surfaces create in the same step
(slot added later)
Segmented slots/ribs: pairs of parallel top faces
Combined boss/pockets
