Violating the tool distance zones
If you place a punch or stamp tool too close to another feature, to a bend, or to the part's outer contour, Creo Elements/Direct Sheet Metal prompts you with a warning after you have clicked .
This prompt warns you of potential deformations. The minimum distance varies from site to site and is defined in the minimum distance tables. Check with your system administrator for details. You can choose to continue the punch or stamp operation, pause the operation and relocate the punch or stamp tool, or cancel the operation.
Each punch or stamp tool includes the following visual feedback:
The hole or stamp outline (1).
The minimum distance zone (2).
The deformation distance zone (3).
The default adjust point (4).
Using the zones you can determine whether undesirable deformation may occur in the sheet metal part:
Minimum distance zone: Any holes or outer contours of the sheet metal part occurring in this zone are likely to deform.
Deformation distance zone: Any stamps or bends in this region are likely to deform.
Based on the message Creo Elements/Direct Sheet Metal issues, you can decide to continue (click Continue) or reposition the tool (click Cancel).
