Modifying sheet features
Every punch and stamp tool operation on a sheet metal part creates a new sheet feature. If design modifications of a sheet metal part affect these features, sheet features may need to be replaced, moved to new positions, copied, or deleted.
To modify sheet features,
1. Click Sheet Metal and then, in the Modify Sheet group, click the arrow next to Feature.
2. Click Modify. The Modify Feature dialog box opens.
3. Select from the following to change one or more features:
Select multiple features using the Select tool or via shift-click.
Select a single feature from the viewport. To select all other features of the same type, click All Similar.
Select an option in the All Type box to select all features of the same type.
*
The All Type dialog box detects generic bend and corner reliefs (those without the specific feature attribute, which appear when creating sheet metal parts with the New By Solid command or when loading external data).
This command does not work with miter bend and miter corner reliefs.
4. Select the new feature using Process, Tool Type, and Tool under New Tool.
5. For a single selection you may change the Position and Angle, if necessary.
6. Click Check Part to execute a part check after the operation.
*
Under New Tool, click Default to set the parameters back to their default settings or click Current to set the parameters back to the currently-saved values.
7. Click to complete the operation.
To move a single sheet feature,
*
The sheet feature you want to move must be in the active workplane.
Sheet features cannot be moved from one workplane to another.
Sheet features cannot be moved outside the boundaries of the sheet.
Sheet features created with the stamp tool cannot be copied. Additionally, if a selection group contains at least one stamp feature, the copy operation cannot be completed
1. Click Sheet Metal and then, in the Modify Sheet group, click the arrow next to Feature.
2. Click Move. The Move Feature dialog box opens and Creo Elements/Direct Sheet Metal prompts you to specify a sheet feature.
3. Click a face belonging to a sheet feature or select the feature in the Structure Browser. Creo Elements/Direct Sheet Metal highlights the sheet feature you have clicked. To specify more than one sheet feature use the Select tool.
4. Optional: Specify the workplane for the sheet feature.
5. Click Use Ref Pos to use the current position of the sheet feature as a reference position for the move operation. If you clear Use Ref Pos, you must explicitly select a reference position.
6. If you want to keep the original geometry, click Keep Feat on.
7. If you want to make a number of copies, enter the number of copies in the Repeat data entry field.
*
When you use Repeat, the copies will appear equidistant and in the same direction as that defined by the reference and target positions.
8. Specify the reference position, if required, using the 2D CoPilot. The visual feedback shows you the selected reference position and guides you to identify a suitable target position as you move the cursor.
9. Specify the target position for the move operation using the 2D CoPilot.
10. Click to complete the operation.
To copy a sheet feature you follow the same procedure and click Keep Feat on. To copy or move more than one sheet feature use the Select tool.
To delete a sheet feature,
1. Click Sheet Metal and then, in the Modify Sheet group, click the arrow next to Feature.
2. Click Delete. Creo Elements/Direct Sheet Metal prompts you to specify a sheet feature.
3. Click a face belonging to a sheet feature. Creo Elements/Direct Sheet Metal highlights the sheet feature you have clicked. To specify more than one sheet feature use the Select tool.
4. Click to complete the operation.
*
You cannot delete features which are only partially within the sheet metal part. You must use a machining operation instead
