Color coding and flat annotation in Creo Elements/Direct Annotation and Creo Elements/Direct Drafting
In the Creo Elements/Direct Annotation and Creo Elements/Direct Drafting flats, Creo Elements/Direct Sheet Metal uses user-definable line colors, line types, and the line thickness to provide additional information about the sheet metal part. You can change these settings in your sha_customize file. The default setting for the colors and types is:
Red
Indicates potential problems with the contour. These include:
Adjacent side faces that are not perpendicular.
A red point (triangle) indicates geometry that cannot be merged. This is caused by incorrectly rounded bends, variations in the thickness of the part, bad bend allowance values, or other violations.
Edges created by regular machining that cannot be flattened.
Feature from reverse side.
The absence of red elements in the flat does not guarantee that the part is without problems. Check the flat visually for overlaps or other problems.
White
Normal color for the outer contour. Other interior geometry displayed in white indicates it was created using Creo Elements/Direct Modeling (or other non-Creo Elements/Direct Sheet Metal) commands.
Cyan
Normal color for bend lines. A dashed bend line indicates a DOWN bend, a solid bend line indicates an UP bend.
Green
Normal color for punch and stamp features created with the technology database.
The following or similar fold line information is displayed as text on the Creo Elements/Direct Drafting flat (can also be customized in the database):
Bend Forming
The bend process.
R 0.4
The bend radius.
90 degrees
The bend angle.
UP/DOWN
The bend direction.
Punch and stamp information is displayed on the flat. The punch and stamp tool code is labeled beside each green feature created with Creo Elements/Direct Sheet Metal. White holes created with Creo Elements/Direct Modeling carry no label. The label contains the tool code of the original shop.
Each feature has a reference point drawn as a green cross. If the reference point is drawn in red you have either chosen the wrong base face for the unfolding, or the feature was brought in from the wrong side.
In case of stamps, only the outermost stamp contour is drawn on the flat. This contour, along with the stamp tool code, gives the manufacturing shop the necessary information.
