Rename a part
You can rename a part or assembly with a new name or the model name.
To rename a part or assembly with a new name,
1. Click Part Library and then, in the Part & Assembly group, click More.
2. Under
Rename, click
Rename By Name. The
Rename dialog box opens.
3. Click Part/Assy and select a part or assembly to be renamed.
4. Click In Assembly and specify the assembly in which the selected part or assembly is to be renamed.
5. Select the Recursive check box to recursively rename the part or assembly.
6. Click Name and type the new name.
7. Select the Force Rename check box to rename even if the specified name already exists.
8. Click
OK
to complete the operation.
To rename with the model name.
1. Click Part Library and then, in the Part & Assembly group, click More.
2. Under
Rename, click
Rename By Modelname. The
Rename With Model Name dialog box opens.
3. Click Assembly and select the assembly to be renamed.
4. Click Recursive to recursively rename the assembly.
5. Click One Level to rename the assembly only at one level.
6. Select the Force Rename check box to rename even if the specified name already exists.
7. Click
OK to complete the operation.
