Creo Elements/Direct Modeling allows you to assign library attributes to mark a part or an assembly as a library element.
To assign library attributes,
1. In Creo Elements/Direct Modeling, click Model Manager and then, in the Custom group, click Mark as Library Element. The Mark as Library Element dialog box opens.
By default, the Mark as Library Element button is not available on the Creo Elements/Direct Modeling ribbon. You can customize the ribbon to add the Mark as Library Element button to the Model Manager tab. For more information, see
Customizing the Creo Elements/Direct Modeling Ribbon.
2. Click Object and select a part or an assembly in the Structure Browser or the viewport.
3. Specify a value in the Library ID box.
The Library ID is an ID that you can assign to a library part or model. The Library ID is assigned as a prefix to the part or model name that appears in the Name column in Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager.
4. In the DB Class Name box, select LIBRARY_3D or CORP_LIBRARY_3D. For more information on class names, see the Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager Customization guide.
5. Click to complete the operation. The selected object is now a library element and it appears locked in the Structure Browser.
