Creo Elements/Direct Modeling IDF Data Adapter (PCB I/F)
The IDF Data Adapter (PCB I/F) is designed as a bidirectional data link between:
• MentorGraphics BoardStation and Creo Elements/Direct Modeling (using the proprietary EIF format), or
• IDF format files and Creo Elements/Direct Modeling.
You can use existing PCB assemblies in BoardStation format to create equivalent mechanical 3D PCB assembly models in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling IDF Data Adapter (PCB I/F). When you have completed your mechanical design work on the imported PCB assembly, you can export it back to its source format for EE detailing.
You can use standard parts stored in the IDF Data Adapter (PCB I/F) libraries to create your own mechanical 3D PCB assembly model to export to BoardStation or IDF format.
