Change an IDF profile
To make a profile editable,
You must unlock a profile or make it editable to change or add items to the profile. To unlock a profile:
1. Click PCB and then, in the Profile group, click Edit. The Edit Profile dialog box opens.
2. Select the profile you want to edit.
3. You can use the Height function to change the height of workplanes that have a height restriction attribute (such as the workplane containing a RESTRICT_BODY_TOP profile).
However, you cannot use this Height function to change the thickness (height) of the board itself. To change the board height, proceed as described in PCB Assemblies.
4. If the profile is of the IDF type OTHER-OUTLINE, it has an Identifier attribute. You can specify an identifier for such profiles.
5. Click .

By default, newly added profiles are unprotected.
To protect a profile,
1. Click PCB and then, in the Profile group, click Edit. The Edit Profile dialog box opens.
2. Select the profile you want to protect.
3. Click the Protect.
4. Click .
To add a hole,
You can add a hole geometry to a CUTOUT profile type. only for the IDF format and not for the EIF format. To add a hole:
1. Change the current workplane to the workplane of an editable CUTOUT type profile.
2. Click PCB and then, in the Hole & Note group, click Add. The Add Hole dialog box opens.
3. Select the plating status of the hole.
4. Select the owner of the hole.
5. Specify the hole diameter.
6. Define the hole center position. When you select the center of the hole, a circle is drawn with the specified diameter.
7. Click Position to add more holes at selected center locations.
8. Click .
To change a hole,
Click PCB and then, in the Hole & Note group, click Modify to change the plating status and/or the diameter of a hole. Modify Hole function is available only for the IDF format and not for the EIF format. The profile workplane which owns the hole geometry or the owning PCB assembly must be active. You need not protect the profile to make a change.
To change annotation text,
Use Note (click PCB and then, in the Hole & Note group, click Note) to create or edit text on an ANNOTATION profile or to change the size or position of this text. The Note function is provided for IDF format files only. You cannot export such notes in EIF format files.
