User component database attributes
Please Note:
The commands to attach and remove database attributes for user components can only be called in administration mode.
Database-related attributes can only be changed manually when the part was not stored to the database already.
These dialogs can only be used in Creo Elements/Direct Mold Base for user components and for no other parts.
Attach user defined components database attributes
The user can set library attributes or purchase BOM data. It is an absolute must that the specified IDs are unique. For library attributes, the given string gets an additional prefix 'OSD_MB_UC_' to ensure uniqueness compared to other database parts and to standard Creo Elements/Direct Mold Base components. Please ensure that the assigned IDs are unique among all of the customer- created user components. When library attributes are attached to a part, the part is stored in the 'Library_3d' class of the database. The part becomes read-only. It can no longer be modified. Additionally, no other Creo Elements/Direct Mold Base components can be created within this part.
Purchase BOM attributes are used to generate purchase BOMs. The objects usually differ. The BOM lists the real number of different parts. The purchase BOM collects all parts with the same purchase BOM ID and generates a BOM listing the purchase parts. For purchase BOM IDs there is no feature to ensure uniqueness of assigned IDs. We suggest using a company-specific prefix to differentiate from existing purchase BOM IDs.
1. Click Mold Base and then, in the Tools group, click the arrow next to More.
2. Click Attach UserComp Database Attributes.
3. Click Part to select a part where database attributes should be attached.
4. With Part Type decide if the selected object is a Library Part or a Standard Part
Library Part
1. Specify a Unique ID. To ensure uniqueness, the system adds the prefix 'OSD_MB_UC_'. The resulting ID is displayed below the data input field. If the used database is Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager and this program is active then the system performs a check to determine if the given ID is unique. If the program is not active, an error message is displayed. These messages have to be accepted. The ID is taken as it is without further checking as to whether or not it exists in the database.
Standard Part - Purchase BOM Data
1. Specify a Unique ID.
2. Two optional parameters (Description1
and
Description2) allow additional information to be provided with the object.
Remove user-defined components database library attributes
The user can remove library attributes just assigned to user components and from no other objects.
1. Click Mold Base and then, in the Tools group, click the arrow next to More.
2. Click Remove UserComp Database Attributes.
3. Click Part to select the part that database library attributes should be removed from. Below the data input field, the current set library unique ID is displayed.
4. Click OK and the database library attributes are removed.
