Mold setup
You can either specify a user mold or give a new name for a mold assembly which is then created in the mold creation dialog.
In the last part of the dialog, select the parts that belong to the form that the mold base is created for. It is important that you select all the parts. We suggest that you order all parts in assemblies. You can then select assemblies and the module will take all parts into account during the calculation process.
The module ignores parts which are not under the ownership of the top mold assembly during calculation. During ejector creation, only those parts that were specified during the initialization step are used to calculate ejector length.
Click Mold Base and then, in the Setup group, click Init. The Mold Setup dialog box opens.
Mold Asmb: Type in the name for your mold assembly. All mold parts are created under the ownership of a mold assembly having this name.
Naming
In this section the system offers default names for the sub-assemblies, which will be defined within the mold. The following sub-assemblies will be created:
Mobile Side: Includes plates 3,4,5,8 and 9 (for a standard mold), the Ejection assembly, relevant components and the inserts defined as core inserts.
Static Side: Including plates 1 and 2 (for a standard mold), the relevant components and the inserts defined as cavity inserts.
Ejection: Including plates 6 and 7 (for a standard mold) and the relevant components.
Components: Includes the components, which belong to both the Mobile and the Static side.
These names have defaults that can be modified by the user.
Select Forms
In this section chooses the inserts which, will be integrated into the mold:
Mobile Side: Choose the insert(s) belonging to the mobile side. A subassembly containing some insert parts can be selected. Selected insert will be moved to be under the ownership of the Core subassembly.
Static Side: Choose the insert(s) belonging to the static side. A subassembly containing some insert parts can be selected. Selected insert will be moved to be under the ownership of the Cavity subassembly.
Other: Choose insert(s), which do not belong to the Mobile or Static side of the mold, for example side cores.
