Heat exchange
Introduction
The new heat exchange tool allows the user to create cooling cycles consisting of pipes, which can be holes or solids (the solids can be used to create the holes or extracted from them). These cycles are created through the commands under the Heat Exchange tab.
Following are the terms used in this section
Pipe - a single cooling pipe (hole).
Pipe Cycle - is a collection of pipes related to one cooling cycle. The relation of the cycle is handled within the MoldBase data structure. It is visualized in the object tree were each cycle is encapsulated in a sub assembly. MoldBase handles naming of the cycle assembly and the geometry in it.
Pipe Solid - the solid part, which is defined as the volume of a pipe hole.
Components - components that are specific for heat exchange. For general components refer to the general commands under the Components tab.
Following groups are included within the Heat Exchange tab:
Create Pipe Cycle
Create pipe cycle - Creates a new pipe (hole) in a new cycle.
From solid - Create new pipe(s) in a new cycle from existing pipe solids (either standard Creo Elements/Direct solids or solids created through the Solid Pipe dialog box).
Modify Pipe
Modify dimensions - Modify diameter and length of pipe.
Modify position - Position a pipe and components attached to it.
Add pipe - Add a new pipe to an existing cycle.
Remove pipe - Delete pipe and/or complete cycle and all components attached to it.
Components
Add component - Add heat exchange components to the pipes.
Modify component - Replace component.
Remove component - Delete component.
Solid Pipe
Create solid pipe - Creates the first solid pipe in a conceptual heat exchange cycle design.
Solid from pipe - Create a solid pipe from the pipe hole.
Remove solid pipe - Delete a solid pipe.
