Extended modules > Creo Elements/Direct Mold Base > Tools > Collision

Collision
This function operates a single plate, insert or component.
Click Mold Base and then, in the Tools group, click Collision. The Collision Detection dialog box opens.
Part/Face: Select a plate, insert or component by picking on the part or component hole.
Distance: Enter a safety distance. The distance you enter is the minimum distance allowed between a component and plate/insert/component face.
Color: If a collision is detected then relevant faces, in collision, are highlighted in selected color.
Cooling: If checked the system looks for collision between cooling pipes too. If collision between cooling pipes is detected a message comes up but no coloring is done.
Check: Start the analysis.
If a plate or insert is selected as a part to be checked then the system looks for collision between component holes and component holes and the plate/insert faces.
If a component is selected as a part to be checked then the component holes of this component, in all relevant mold parts, are checked against all other component holes in the mold parts.
A message pops up whenever a collision is detected.
