Unit systems

Creo Elements/Direct Finite Element Analysis allows you to specify a variety of different unit settings. They are divided up into 3 categories: Basic, Mechanical, and Thermal Analysis. These unit settings are used in addition to the standard Creo Elements/Direct Modeling unit settings (length, angle, and mass).

Basic:	Temperature, Time
Mechanical:	Stress, Density, Force, Moment, Energy, Pressure, Velocity, Acceleration, Frequency
Thermal Analysis:	Heatflow, Heatflux, Thermal Analysis Conductivity, Specific Heat, Film Coefficient

Each of these settings allows you to choose between a variety of possible units. Rather than setting all of these units separately, you can use the Unit System dialog box (click Modify and then, in the Settings group, click Units and then System), that sets up a set of units according to a typical system. You then only modify particular ones that do not fit your needs. The following table gives you an overview about which settings the different systems use. Units shown in red (ft lbf) are not supported.
